Only two more weeks left before finals! These last few weeks can be hectic, so keep an eye on the announcements to make sure you remember everything.

End-of-Year Reviews

End-of-year reviews are approaching fast! If you’re a first-year student, make sure to check your email for more information about Foundation Reviews. If this is your first year as an Art & Design major and you haven’t received an email, please email Courtney (cbc20b@acu.edu) and let her know. Don’t forget to make an appointment for your review! Sophomores, keep an eye out for emails from your program directors about sophomore reviews.

A&D Bible Study

This semester’s A&D Bible study wraps up this Sunday evening (4/24) from 7:00-8:30 P.M. at the home of Dan and Laura McGregor, 810 Canyon Court.

The study: Sermon on the Mount. First timers are (still!) welcome, and chapel credit will be available.

Writing Center Gallery

The Writing Center is looking for student art to display! If any student is looking for a place to display their art, the Writing Center Gallery would love to show it. This would count as a gallery credit you can put on your resume. For more information, contact Cole Bennett at cole.bennett@acu.edu.

Adobe Certifications

If you are interested in earning one or more of the Adobe certifications (Ai, Ps, Id, Pr, Ae, Dw, An), the Innovation Lab is offering these certifications for free to Art and Design students. If you are interested, please reach out to Amos Guttierez at axg12a@acu.edu.

Senior Show: American Wild

Come visit Rebekah Conder’s senior show, American Wild! The show will run from March 17 to April 30th at the Center for Contemporary Arts. The gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Go check out the show and support an Art & Design senior!

The end of the semester is quickly approaching! Easter is ahead, and hopefully you’ll enjoy the long weekend. There are quite a few new announcements, so make sure to read to the end!

Department Barbecue

Come join us for the Art & Design Department Barbecue this Wednesday, April 13th. The barbecue will be outside of the Shore Gallery, and it starts at 5:30. Celebrate the end of the semester and come get some good food, fun, and fellowship!

A&D Bible Study

Due to the Easter weekend holiday, A&D Bible Study will not meet this Sunday (4/17). We will pick up again the following week.

Volunteers Needed: Center for Contemporary Arts CarWalk

If you’re in need of volunteer hours or just want to help out at a fun event, come volunteer at the Center for Contemporary Arts CarWalk this Thursday. They need help with getting the food trucks set up, vendors settled, classic cars checked in, the band’s gear unloaded, and more. Volunteers will be fed, receive an exclusive 2022 CarWalk shirt, and the director can write volunteer letters if needed. Writing Center Gallery

Join Arlene Kasselman at a Reception Honoring the A&D Class of 2022

The Fine Art Program is hosting a reception with pizza, drinks, and dessert this Thursday, 11:00-12:00, in DM141! All A&D students are invited. Come to honor this year’s graduating class, visit with Arlene (or meet her for the very first time!), enjoy the free food and drink, and assist our program by filling out a brief survey.

Senior Show: Chroma

The final senior art exhibition of the semester, Chroma, opens this Friday, April 8th. Come to the reception at 5:30 pm and wear black & white attire to enjoy works created by Camille Wescott, Kortland Judd, Ivan Martinez, Aubrey Richert, and Aubree Herrold.

A+D Bible Study

A&D Bible study continues this Sunday evening (4/3) from 7:00-8:30 P.M. at the home of Dan and Laura McGregor, 810 Canyon Court (corner of Canyon and Gill, just a few minutes from campus).

We’re exploring the Sermon on the Mount and how to apply it in our lives. First timers are always welcome, and chapel credit will be available.

Artovation 2022: TASA Call for Student Art

The Texas Association of Schools of Art is currently accepting submissions for their online annual spring student competition. Any student (2-year, 4-year, or grad student) is welcome to submit one or two virtual art pieces completed in 2021-22 by April 1, 2022. There’s no entry fee, and they do have cash prizes! Welcome back! We hope you enjoyed your spring break. There are quite a few announcements this week, so make sure and read to the end!

A&D Mandatory Meeting

Don’t forget to attend the Art & Design Department mandatory meeting TODAY at 4:30 pm. We’ll be meeting in the Shore Gallery. A lot of important information will be shared that you need to know to graduate on time, so be sure to attend!

Small Business Pop-Up

Do you have your own business? Come promote your business at the Inland Ocean Coalition small business pop-up! The event will happen on campus on April 9, and you can participate for a fee of $35. For more information, contact Megan Lovejoy by March 26th.

Senior Show & Reception: American Wild

Come visit Rebekah Conder’s senior show, American Wild! The show will run from March 17 to April 30th, and the reception is this Saturday, March 26th, from 3:30-5:00. Food and refreshments will be provided!

A+D Bible Study

A&D Bible study resumes this Sunday evening (3/27) from 7:00-8:30 P.M. at the home of Dan and Laura McGregor, 810 Canyon Court (corner of Canyon and Gill, just a few minutes from campus).

We’re continuing to explore the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew’s Gospel. It’s pretty easy to jump in if you’ve never attended before, so first-timers are always welcome! Chapel credit will be available.

Design Opportunity: Abilene Gives

Big Country CASA is in need of graphics for a yearly giving campaign – Abilene Gives. On May 3, 2022, Abilene Gives will launch a 24-hour period of giving to select nonprofits. We would like to promote this day of giving on all social media platforms and via postcards, highlighting Big Country CASA and the work that we do. This could look like a save the date, scan/text to give, and any other graphics! Learn more about Abilene Gives here, and more information about Big Country CASA can be found here.
