Do you know someone that has been impacted by heart disease or a stroke? Please join the ACU Heart Walk team and walk to honor them while supporting a great organization. All walkers and their families receive a free t-shirt and the event is on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 9-10:30 a.m. at the ACU Lunsford Trail. Phil Schubert is the Heart Walk Chair this year and if you are interested in participating or want more information, please email Amber Bunton at alg08a@acu.edu. You are not required to raise money, just come out and show your support!

Please use this form to sign up for general HR or Payroll training. This would include training on PAFs, ePAFs, entering or approving web time, the general hiring process, or anything else HR or Payroll related.

Walgreens will be on campus September 26 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. to administer flu vaccines to ACU faculty and staff and their dependents (age 7 and up). All you need to bring is your BCBSTX medical ID card to receive this preventive vaccine at no charge. Tdap and pneumonia vaccines will also be available for qualified individuals.

In response to IT’s recent audit review, we will be enforcing new password security measures. There will be specifications to ensure the strength of your password.  As you think about a new password, remember these guidelines:

* must have a minimum of 8 characters
* must include an upper case and a lower case letter
* must include a number and special character

Please watch for updates in this newsletter and at blogs.acu.edu/technologysupport as these changes will begin taking place in October.

Some ACU users received a phishing email that includes a link to a web page that looks like ACU’s Single Sign-On page. This page asks for your username, password and date of birth. DO NOT enter your information onto this page. This is a phishing attempt and your information will be compromised. Please join us for a come and go farewell reception honoring David Gibson on Sept 24th from 2:00 -3:00 p.m. in Hunter Welcome Center, McCaleb Conference Room, Zone A. David has accepted the position of CIO at Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas, after serving ACU for 17 years. Please stop by to wish David well and let him know how much he will be missed.

ACU will be having a surplus Computer Auction on Sat., 9/28 in Cullen Auditorium. Viewing and registration starts at 11 a.m. and the actual auction starts at 1 p.m. There will be many computers for sale including Apple iMacs, MacBooks, MacBook Pros, and Mac Pros, Dell laptops and desktops, printers, monitors, digital projectors, server equipment, and much more. If you were unable to attend one of the TIAA-CREF presentations regarding the 401(a) and 401(k) plan terminations, you can view a copy of the presentation here.  TIAA-CREF will be back on campus in October for one-on-one sessions.  HR will communicate dates and how to sign up for these session in the coming weeks.

All Faculty Staff and Students planning on going to the ACU football game against Tarleton State at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas  on September 28th will need to purchase tickets, your ACU All Sports Pass will not work to get you into this game. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for ACU students and kids under 18. Tickets can be purchased by calling 888-695-0888 or by going to acusports.com This ticket also includes admission to the Aaron Watson Concert before the game at 2 p.m. with kickoff to follow at 4 p.m.
