Dear colleagues,

It is my honor and pleasure to submit this portfolio to you as I seek tenure and promotion to associate professor.

In the following pages, I believe I have demonstrated evidence of excellence, growth, and potential in the areas of teaching, scholarship, service, and collegiality, in accordance with the tenure and promotion standards of the university and my department, the Graduate School of Theology (GST). Perhaps the most formative part of putting this portfolio together has been reflecting deeply on these four distinct but interwoven aspects of my vocation. The process has also reaffirmed for me why ACU—and particularly the GST and College of Biblical Studies—is a great fit for me as a teacher, a scholar, a colleague, and a disciple of Jesus.

I began teaching at ACU in August 2015, just days after the successful defense of my DPhil thesis. Due to my husband Ian’s poor health and the disruptions of the COVID-19 pandemic, I delayed my tenure process twice, postponing it from the fall of 2020 to 2022. (I provide a few more details here.) I’m so grateful for the unwavering support that all of my colleagues, and particularly my dean, Ken Cukrowski, and (former) associate dean, Tim Sensing, have offered all the way through.

I know that it’s a lot of work to serve on the University Tenure and Promotion Committee. Thank you for your dedication to this task and for your consideration of my portfolio.
