Hannah Henderson on Photographer of the week 11: Morell
12:44 am, 11.14.11
I absolutely love pictures that make you think, and this definitely made me think. It took me a while to process what was happening in this picture and I love it. I love photographers that push the limits photography and aren’t afraid to try something new. Abelardo Morell thinks outside the box and has inspired me to think more outside the box when it comes to my photography.
Hannah Henderson on Photographer of the week 07: Arbus
12:39 am, 11.14.11
Diane Arbus is not your typical photographer, and I think that is what makes her so fantastic. I may not have the same style of picture taking as her, but I can definitely appreciate her talent for finding interesting situations and taking pictures of them. The thing I love about her pictures is none of them look planned or posed, just pictures of life in the moment. Her work has a creepiness about it, but that makes it particular to her. It is definitely daring and interesting.
Hannah Henderson on Photographer of the week 05: Salgado
12:32 am, 11.14.11
I had never seen any of Salgado’s pictures before, but after looking at this one I am eager to explore more of his works. I love his style of photography, traveling street type of photography really fascinates me. This photo really captures the essence of what this type of photography is supposed to be like. I just have so many questions about what is going on in this picture, it makes me wish I were there exploring, which is important for street photography. I love this picture, I can’t get over how stunning it is!
Hannah Henderson on Photographer of the week 03: Becher

I really like the photographs of this couple! I like the simplicity of the photographs, yet something strong about them draws you in. They are talented because they are able to take normal shapes and buildings and photograph them in such a way that they become interesting works of art. I like that they took pictures of every day things like barns and warehouses and made them special; I love when people take the ordinary and make it extraordinary. I also really like the straightforward objective view all their photographs have, it makes the buildings the most interesting parts of the photographs.
