  1. Along with what Sara Beth said, I love double exposures. Unique messages can be sent this way that can’t always be sent with a single exposure. The artistic aspect is so fascinating to me and I look forward to doing pictures like this in the future.

  2. The softness in this photo is really nice. I like that there is no hard light and short depth of field. The little detail of the leaf makes the photo interesting. Her 3/4 or almost profile view is interesting as well as her closed eyes. Because of these things, I enjoy the composition of the photo being centered and straight on.It’s a very nice photo!

  3. The composition of these common buildings makes them, as Hannah wonderfully put it, ordinary into extraordinary. Although buildings and structures aren’t my favorite thing to photograph and to look at, I think because of the arrangement, it makes them much more interesting to look at.

  4. I agree with all the above! I think it’s fascinating how one simple sign with one word can create so many thoughts and questions. It tugs at my heart that this woman was probably an outcast because of this label. I believe Paul Strand was successful in sending the message he wanted to send with this photo.
