Hit or Miss?

Over break I was looking in the pantry for a snack and grabbed a ziplock full of candies and almost freaked out! I thought a giant cockroach was about to attack my face! I’m not sure what the designer’s intention of this product was…to scare off unwanted predators? I thought it was gross and it freaked me out. It almost makes me not want to use the ziplocks at all because the bug just grosses me out that much. Maybe that was my parent’s intention..to keep me away from their stash while I was home for the holidays! MISS

Eco Friendly

While browsing inspiration for our beverage product I came across this website with some really interesting and innovative packaging designs. They have examples of ALL types of styles and it was very inspiring to look at. It’s nice to see diversity, especially when you work with a specific style for to long and you get stuck on a certain path. The first few designs work with Eco friendly elements and I thought it was cool since it relates to our project as well as help the Earth!

This is quite disturbing. I’m not sure why a cigarette company would put this out in the public because surely it would persuade buyers not to buy the product. I mean I know if I saw this it would make me think about the consequences of smoking. It is creative and captivating though. It definitely catches your attention!

Dang I didn’t know there was such thing as black water! That’s crazy, I don’t know if I’d really want to drink that..but It’s a really different concept that I think is interesting. I like how the white type is visible when the drink is full, and the black type is visible when it’s empty. Really clever and cool idea.

This is a really great place for inspiration. I love the look and feel of handwritten type, but I’ve never been able to pull it off. I always have such trouble with type so finding sites like this that I can look at and observe is really helpful.

Gosh this guy has amazing skill. I’m always wanting to branch out and try this type of vintage ornate kind of design work, but I can never quite get there. This work is so detailed its amazing, I love the anchor he did.

This is a neat idea and I think the design is clean and clever. However, I wonder if these were actually sold if it would hurt each company due to the content. I’m sure some die hard supporters would have a hard time buying a can with the opposite candidate’s name on the can. The design is cool though I like it.

I really like your finished product! I think the concept is creative and the design looks really nice. I don’t know if you were going for a vintage feel, but I think that’s what it looks like and it is done successfully.I like the texture and I think it all comes together nicely. I also think the container is really clever and cool. The mints look like really special pills or something.

  7. It’s crazy that you found this because this was pretty much what direction I was thinking about going for with my product, “cleansing soap”. It’s cool to see an actual product so I can compare my ideas to theirs. It’s an interesting concept and I’m looking forward to exploring it some more.

  8. This was a great pool to find inspiration from, especially because for my next project since I’m leaning towards a vintage old-fashioned feel. There are a lot of great styles here, I really liked the Kit-Kat package.

I really enjoy the style of this place. It’s very hip and trendy and I would assume the style and environment brings in a lot of customers. I know when I eat somewhere the vibe of the restaurant is a big factor for me whether I come back. I mean yeah the food is obviously important, but the environment is what makes me feel comfortable.

  10. I really enjoyed looking at that link that you posted Mallory. I thought the concept was interesting and creative, but what I liked most about it was how they were showing the process of their design. It gave me a perspective that I haven’t put much thought in, working in a group environment. Obviously people do that majority of the time, but being so use to working alone and with my own designs it was cool to see the process of a group brainstorming and coming up with designs.
