Sp Top: Adv. Photography

This is a photographer named Morgan Chidsey that I actually grew up with. She just finished studying photography in Paris for a semester, working for Vogue Paris in her free time while she was there. Something I find really interesting about her style is the softness of the light captured in the images. I know a lot of textures and colors can be altered post-production, but the way in which she does these things really sets her images apart. There’s a distinctly edgy meets vintage feel in most of her portraits and the fashion photography. She has some interesting still life shots though, some of which she focuses on her Jewish heritage, which is pretty cool to see.

I really liked the Beet Cake video Nil showed us in class so I went and looked up more by Tiger in a Jar. This film production company is run by a husband and wife team, Matt and Julie Walker, located in Salt Lake City, Utah. I love the angle all of these videos are filmed in, as well as the vintage feel to their work.

Raspberry Tart

Alexandra Valenti is a famous photographer known for her work with Free People and Sisters of the Moon. I love the bohemian and eclectic feel to her work.

I love the water reflection and the condensation created in the glass container. I like that the image is in black and white but I do wish I could see it in color.

I like that it’s not a front on shot of his face and I like the shadow create on his cheek and the highlight on his neck and hair.

I think this shot is gorgeous and I love the contrast between the lightness and darkness of the sky and lights.

Lightfield Lewis created this video of the wedding of Victoria and Jason Evigan. This video popped into my head when Nil was presenting the short documentary project to us in class. This is a very creative photographer that has a unique style. I love the vintage feel of his photos. Here are a few samples of photos!

Sean Berry, a Dallas based photographer.

Sean has shot musicians such as Wiz Khalifa (for Rolling Stone), Cody Simpson, and many other Dallas based bands.
His live concert shots are as incredible as they come and his portraits are breathtaking.
I love his style and use of light.
