Artists Needed to Paint TOMS Shoes!

Yanell Rieder at Village Shoes and Boutique is looking for artists to volunteer a bit of time to paint/personalize TOMS shoes for people.  It’s for a fundraiser, with proceeds going to Hendrick Home for Children.  An excellent way to fuse your art with service to others!  And it would serve as an art event credit, maybe two (depending on how long you worked).

The event will be this Saturday.  You can sign up for two time slots:  9:30 to 1:30  or 1:30 to 5:30 (or  a part of either one, if you don’t have enough time for the whole slot.

Gingerbread House Building Competition Call for Teams

The ACU Student Chapter of ASID is hosting a Gingerbread Building Design Competition on Tuesday November 29th in Bennett Gym beginning at 6:30 pm. The entry fee is $12 per team.

This is a Call for interested Teams, of up to four people, to sign up in the ACU Campus Center between November 16 and 17.

Celebrity judges will choose the winning teams.

Proceeds will help to fund a home renovation service project planned in Abilene by the Student Chapter of ASID.

 

Internship Opportunity: Grace Museum

The Grace in Downtown Abilene is offering a curatorial internship for Spring 2012. The Grace is accredited by the American Association of Museums and this supervised intership also affords qualified students the opportunity to experience professional practice and standards for art and history collection storage, documentation and inventory.
