Color Fan Job for Graphic Artist: Jimmy Lyn’s Catering

Jimmy Lyn’s Catering is looking for two graphic design students to each work on two color fan projects. Preferably sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Each fan will take about 4 weeks to make for less than 7 hours a week. Both students will be working for 8 weeks total. The students will be paid 400 dollars per project, and will meet once a week to share their progress.

Mandatory Department Meeting

There will be a mandatory department wide meeting for all art and design students this Thursday, September 1st at 5:00 p.m in The Shore Art Gallery. Important information will be discussed, so make plans to attend.

Joyce Elaine Grant 2012 Exhibition Application

The 2012 Joyce Elaine Grant Juried Exhibition Application is now open. Here is the link for the online entry and further application instructions and requirements. Slideroom entries must be received by Sunday, November 6, 2011. The exhibition will be on view to the public at the Texas Woman’s University Fine Arts Gallery February 21 through March 28, 2012. This exhibition is looking for works in all themes and media. Artist may submit up to five images and the fee is $35.00. Additional pieces may be entered with an additional fee.

Awards and prizes include:

Solo exhibition at TWU Fine Arts Gallery, (February 2013)

Coupralux — $500 printing award

Red River Paper — $200 paper award Arlington Camera – $100 gift certificate

National Arts Program’s 25th Anniversay

The The National Arts Program’s 25th anniversary Abilene show is coming this fall and we want you to be a part of it! We hope to showcase at least 100 pieces of art and there are cash prizes! The call for entries end on September 1st so don’t delay! Online registration is currently open and we encourage you to enter that way. If you’re unable to enter online please register in person (with your work) on September 3, 2011 between 10am and 3pm. Please make sure to use your ACU/Abilene address on the registration form.
