Weekly Announcements for week of March 25:

  • Advising Information – Please note the following:
    • Art 287 : Art for Elementary and Secondary Education is being offered this Fall. This will count as a non-specified studio elective.
    • We’ve received enough interest from students to add additional online sections of Beginning Spanish I and Beginning Spanish II for Summer 2013.  You may force add a student to FLSP 112 since the pre-requisite error will prevent your students from registering for both sections.  The dates for the courses are listed below.
    • FLSP 111.W3 – Summer I-II, May 13 – June 20
    • FLSP 112.W3 – Summer III-IV, June 24 – August 1
  • Wood Shop Hour Changes: The wood shop will be open different hours on Tuesday, March 26th – 5:30-7:30 pm

Housing in two ACU Victorian houses in Oxford, just north of the medieval city center
trip to Italy, with stays in Rome and Florence
trip to Paris
day-trips to London
Housing in Leipzig, Germany with possible trips to Berlin and Prague.

ART 222 – Art History: General Survey II

ART 440 – Special Topics: Street Photography

ART 440 – Special Topics: Painting or Special Topics: Art History (these are reserved for individuals who have already had the previous listed courses).

The faculty leading this program are Prof. Kenny Jones. and Assistant Prof. Brandon Young. They will be accompanied by their spouses Polly Jones and Jana Young. This program promises to be a rich and varied interactive experience of art, culture, and history. We will be on site in the metropolitan and cultural centers of Europe and the picturesque landscapes and coastal areas of England.

Students win Awards at DSVC Show

Congratulations to all the students who won awards at The 9th Annual National Student Show and Conference.

The DSVC (Dallas Society of Visual Communication) Student Competition is a great competition with participants all over the United States in addition to Texas. The winners work will be shown at the student conference that is accompanied by a job fair attended by top employers throughout the state. This is a great opportunity for these students to showcase their work.

New Course offered Fall 2013

This course, History and Philosophy of Science – PHYS/PHIL378.01, has been added to the Fall 2013 offerings.  The class emphasizes theater, literature and the visual arts.  It counts as a Gen-Ed science requirement.  Art and Design students are always welcome and encouraged to consider this course to fulfill part of their Gen-Ed science requirement.
