I was in Target this weekend and saw this on the end of the isle and almost freaked out. I love Andy Warhol (mainly his personality; it’s hilarious to me how he never really responds or shows emotion) and seeing this made my day. I actually bought a can just for the packaging.
Check an article of it here http://www.psfk.com/2012/08/andy-warhol-campbells-soup-can.html

Classic! It is actually pretty interesting how the “circle has closed” (…quoted from the article), and how his art returns to the products of consumption — and art itself as consumption. Thanks for sharing. I need to get one myself. :)

These are great! You’re going to have to tell me which Target they were in because I would be surprised if they were in Abilene. I think if Campbell’s actually sold these in stores, they would probably make more money than their regular cans, just because of the packaging!

I saw these in the store a couple weekends ago and almost lost it. Such a great advertising idea from Campbell’s and the cans look so great. Like Nil was saying, it really is cool how the roles have switched.

i have got to get me one!! just another example of us buying products for the packaging… though i’m pretty sure it’s justified in this instance!

These cans are too cool! I love that they sold these because people are able to not only buy the soup but buy a piece of art at the same time. These cans are definitely worth more than the 75 cents they were sold for though.
