If you’ve ever been a fan of packaging for a certain type of drink that shall remain unnamed, you should check out Oh Beautiful Beer! Great variety of packaging!

This packaging comes from UNT alum Chad Michael. He says his aim with the men’s care line was to create an industrious and modern feel. I really think the metal and brown, textured paper does a good job conveying that.

Here is a concept for packaging individual cocktail ingredients (shhh…). Not only is it beautiful, but the packaging becomes a thing of much use. The individual ingredients can be attached together, which breaks the seal, then the whole thing becomes a shaker.

I have really been thinking of packaging as something of use and not just beauty. The other day I made instant oatmeal and they have added measuring lines to the pouches so you can add milk without dirtying a measuring cup. Genius!

This Flickr pool has an unreal amount of min-century packages for inspiration. Lots of great colors and retro stylings.

Mystery Midcentury Packaging

Jim Heimann stumbled across some painted packaging sketches that appear to be from the 1940’s or 50’s. They are unsure of the artist or even what projects they came from but one thing’s for sure, they are pretty.

This is so great! Do you know if it is part of a collection. I can imagine a lot of very different products have comparable design styles. It would be interesting to see some more.

  2. I saw these in the store a couple weekends ago and almost lost it. Such a great advertising idea from Campbell’s and the cans look so great. Like Nil was saying, it really is cool how the roles have switched.

That website is a really great tool for seeing what’s happening with trends and styles around the world.

I really dig these condiment concept packages. Very modern and I love the attachable nozzles. And the words “kitchup” and “mosterd” are pretty funny.
