What’s in the room
Microphones – two studio-quality mics are ready for solo or multi-person recording. Media 3 is also equipped with a phone mount and professional lighting for filming video podcasts directly to your phone.
Sound Mixer – Simple controls on the RODECaster Duo capture balanced sound with basic effects controls to produce high-quality sound.
Headphones – Professional headphones allow you to monitor the recording as you go.
Sound Panels – The room is lined with sound dampening panels to minimize background noise and bring focus to your voice
How to use the room
Book your slot online
Head to the booking system and reserve a time that works for you. Pick your date, time, and how long you need the room.
Record & Share
Check-in with the front desk if you need to borrow a drive. Otherwise you can record directly to your device via a USB-C cable. The microphones, lighting, sound mixer and phone mount will be ready for you when you arrive. Record your podcast, interview or song. Finally, when you’re done, transfer your file(s) to your computer or Google Drive then return the drive (if you borrowed one) to the front desk.
Edit
The RODECaster Duo can be used without a computer, but you can edit in Media 3 and choosing Adobe Audition or Garage Band to begin your podcast or project.

What kinds of projects is this room designed for?
Media 3 is best used for audio-focused projects like podcasts, interviews, and recording a presentation or a song.
What if I want to record the audio from a Zoom call in Media 3?
If you are recording a podcast and your guest is calling in via zoom, the process to record them with the RODECaster Duo is fairly simple. Connect your laptop or the iMac to the RODECaster via the USB-C slot in the back. Start your zoom call or meeting.
On the sound board, select RODECaster Duo Chat as your audio input and output. Fader 4 should be set to that input for setting your levels. Select Record on the RODECaster Duo to start the recording. Then select Stop to stop the recording.
When you’re finished, make sure the drive is not blinking before disconnecting it from the RODECaster.
I plugged in my own USB drive and the sound mixer is not working.
If you brought your own USB drive, it needs to be formatted for exFAT. You can borrow an already formatted drive from the Learning Studio or you can follow these instructions to format your own:
In Media 3, insert the drive into the RODECaster sound mixer. You may see the record button grayed out on the screen and an error message saying that your drive needs to be formatted.
If you aren’t prompted to format the drive, you can manually select the storage icon on the home screen and tap Erase to begin this process. Once you’re drive is formatted to exFAT, the record light on the home screen display should turn green letting you know that the drive is ready to record.
