Hello everyone,

We have one item for the agenda for next week.   UUAC reviewed the Capstone Guidelines that we approved at our last meeting, and they requested some changes in wording to the assignments at the bottom of the guidelines.

For the first bullet at the bottom of the page, they requested we add the phrase  “but are not limited to” to explain that the list is not a complete list of assignments but are examples of assignments.

For the final bullet, they suggested we change the description of the assignment from “resume” (our original language was annotated resume) to “
comprehensive skills and accomplishments inventory” to distinguish it from the traditional resume that students prepare for employers. They also suggested we add “integrative thinking” and “knowledge,” to the list to connect this assignment to the learning outcomes for the course.
Take a look at the suggestions and let me know what you think.   If we can handle this discussion and vote by email, we can cancel the meeting. I’m happy to call a meeting of the council on Wednesday if a face-to-face meeting is the best way to discuss this issue.
