This is a San Diego based underwater photographer, Kyle McBurnie. His pictures are exceptional, and capture vivid pictures of the vibrant life and creatures found in the ocean. I love to scuba dive, so these pictures really inspire me! Check out his website and see his incredibly vibrant, beautifully lit underwater shots.

I have loved this music video for quite a while. The whole video is made up of many individual pictures-and creates an entire story of this girl, dreaming in bed. It is AMAZING, check it out! I think that anyone could take pictures like these and put them all together in this way to create a scene and story.

I found this photographer while looking at some popular photographer’s sites. This photographer’s website, called “Northlandscapes”, really intrigued me because of the locations of his landscapes. I am studying abroad in Europe in the spring, so it is really incredible seeing someone who so beautifully captures these different places around the different countries in Europe. My favorite pictures are his pictures of the Northern Lights. I am curious to what settings are necessary to capture the beauty of the Northern Lights!

Here is my VSCO Grid. I love this app, and am so excited now that I know about the Grid! It is super easy, and as we were shown in class, it is a great way to present your iPhone photography.

We had a great discussion today in class on the different aspects of the camera. I find it amazing how each setting truly effects your picture in a powerful way. One aspect I have a little less understanding on is what the “F-Stop” digits stand for. This Article, from “idigitalphoto.com” does a great job on explaining “what” these numbers stand for and “why” in a little more depth! Check it out:

So cute! I love how these pictures capture so much more than just “fashion”. The characters and lively faces of the children enhance the feeling the viewer gets when they look at the pictures.

Oh my goodness! I LOVE the movement and excitement in these pictures. I love the explosive movement found in the stillness of a camera’s capturing. He captures these moments in time that are usually too fleeting to see by the eye.

As a painter, I love when “graphic design” can be done by hand, rather than on a computer. The final result of this real-life hand-written wall, is awesome. I am curious as to how the process goes. I have no idea how I would go about doing this. The end result is stunning!

  4. I absolutely love this idea. It reminds me of the little, drawn flip books I would make when I was little. The actual drawings did not move. But when you change little things page after page after page, it gives the impression of movement. This video is a work of art because of the precision of the changes in movement, that create forms and faces, that also move and change.

WOW. I am in awe at Paolo’s “Underwater” pictures in his portfolio. Man, that is so cool! I am a certified scuba diver, so it gives me chills when someone is able to capture, in beautiful lighting, the amazing essence of what it is like to be in the ocean. This really inspires me in the incredible possibilities of underwater pictures.

  6. I enjoyed this pose, because I am studying abroad in Oxford in the spring! It will be fun to shoot scenes, just like these, of the places I see, in Black and White! Black and white can really capture characteristics of places that color can sometimes distract from.

  7. I love Winter’s work, so much! His simple portraits and beautifully contrasted lighting remind me of portrait paintings. He seems to really capture the essence and expressions of the people he is shooting.

These are so impressive. I love how there is no real theme in the coloring. Rather, all of the colors in the trash work together in the way they are placed, to show the values of the face. It is so incredible that trash, and really any objects, can be placed with others to create such a realistic piece of art work.

These are breath-taking! It is so incredible that a moment in time of light being painted, can literally be captured in photos like these. I am not sure how she is able to go about doing this without people in the background painting the light. I would be curious to see this process as well. Very cool!

I love these! I love the way she is captures parts of the world that normally can’t be seen unless traveled to. When I paint, my go-to is always landscapes. So, I really love the style of her photos, and to amazing, world-broadening content of them.
