This is a San Diego based underwater photographer, Kyle McBurnie. His pictures are exceptional, and capture vivid pictures of the vibrant life and creatures found in the ocean. I love to scuba dive, so these pictures really inspire me! Check out his website and see his incredibly vibrant, beautifully lit underwater shots.

I have loved this music video for quite a while. The whole video is made up of many individual pictures-and creates an entire story of this girl, dreaming in bed. It is AMAZING, check it out! I think that anyone could take pictures like these and put them all together in this way to create a scene and story.

I found this photographer while looking at some popular photographer’s sites. This photographer’s website, called “Northlandscapes”, really intrigued me because of the locations of his landscapes. I am studying abroad in Europe in the spring, so it is really incredible seeing someone who so beautifully captures these different places around the different countries in Europe. My favorite pictures are his pictures of the Northern Lights. I am curious to what settings are necessary to capture the beauty of the Northern Lights!

Here is my VSCO Grid. I love this app, and am so excited now that I know about the Grid! It is super easy, and as we were shown in class, it is a great way to present your iPhone photography.

We had a great discussion today in class on the different aspects of the camera. I find it amazing how each setting truly effects your picture in a powerful way. One aspect I have a little less understanding on is what the “F-Stop” digits stand for. This Article, from “idigitalphoto.com” does a great job on explaining “what” these numbers stand for and “why” in a little more depth! Check it out:

  1. Okay-these are seriously beautiful! My favorite pictures are the ones he took of the outside of buildings, revealing peoples rooms. The lighting seems to illuminate each room. Beautiful pictures capturing people’s little world’s inside of their rooms. So neat!

  2. I really appreciate the emotional content found in Annie’s photos. The pictures are very real, and the subjects of her photos are very honest in their expressions (rather than poised).

I love these pictures! This really speaks to how much of an “art” photography truly is. I love that you can experiment with even the simplest thing, such as water on a photogram, and it creates a stunning, unique image and piece of artwork.

Chelsea, this is VERY cool! Gilad’s pictures are inspirational. His pictures are powerful because they move you in a strong way-beyond normal, physical world can do. It is amazing how photography can do this. Gilald does a great job of using a camera to create eye-capturing, powerful artistic work.

  5. Morell’s photo is beautiful because it displays the pinhole camera’s ability to accurately capture both detail and value. Not only is the pinhole camera an intelligent discovery, but it also, as displayed in this picture, beautifully captures and the range of values and gradients that exist in the visual world.
