During the week of November 5th, the OpenClass team will release a new feature to OpenClass called Course Activity Reporting. The release will provide enhanced reporting for student grades and class statistics, as well as login frequency. Please note below the details regarding the two different types of reporting that will be accessible with the addition of Course Activity Reporting; Class Overview and Student Performance.

Under the Class Overview tab instructors will note the following features:

  • Percentage of students whose grades to date are 90% and above, 80%-89%, 70%-79%, and 69% and below
  • Class average on grade to date
  • Top 5 performers
  • Lowest scores
  • Students who have not signed in, in the past 3 days

Under the Student Performance tab instructors will note the following features:

  • Class average
  • Individual student grade to date
  • Individual student last login date
  • Sorting of student grades
  • Individual student scores on each assignment
  • Class average on each assignment

Students will only have the Student Performance tab with a subset of the features including:

  • Personal grade to date
  • Grade on individual assignments
  • Last login
  • Sorting of assignment scores

It is important to note that this release will not be a retroactive release and will only be applied to newly created courses in OpenClass from November 5 forward. If you have courses you are currently running in OpenClass – especially courses that have already been created for the spring or summer terms – and you would like Course Activity Reporting to be added to them, please send the course number, course name, and term when it will be taught to Mindi Thompson in the Adams Center.
