I was just uploading some pictures to my Flickr and I came across this set of photos that I really thought were interesting. The focus is steam and I think the photographer really captured some great photos! I love the black as well, it gives a dramatic and old fashioned kind of feel.

This project was really awesome to work on. I really enjoyed working in the studio as well as outdoors. I knew going into it that I wanted to go with an edgy/editorial direction. I love working with heavy avant garde type of makeups and working with glitter was great. I had a lot of fun with it. I struggled a little bit with my concept, at first I was gonna go with something like the effects of partying, but I couldn’t get it to go how I wanted it to so I ended with Glamour to Grunge theme. Overall I like the way my final turned out. I like the black an white and had a lot of fun editing these. I only wish I would have a pushed a little more out of my comfort zone. Doing this project has sparked an interest in this type of photography, and I’m excited to continue doing more photo shoots like this!

There is ALOT to consider when you are trying to get the right lighting. I didn’t really grasp that until I got in the studio and started trying to take photos. There are angles, different equipment, and power of light to think about when doing a photoshoot. Not to mention all the different settings on your camera that can change a shot drastically. Being new to photography, this was extremely challenging for me especially regarding things like shutter speed, ISO, and the aperture. I also had trouble with my photos not coming out very clear and that was frustrating as well. In the end I think I ended up with some really awesome shots that I am proud of. This was a good first project because it taught me alot about lighting and equipment that I didn’t know before.

Oh my gosh these are so unbelievably beautiful! The colors are exquisite. I don’t know what kind of editing he did in his pictures but it’s remarkable. I would love to learn how to do this. I love landscape photography because I think there is so much aesthetic beauty in nature.

Flach is absolutely incredible! I’m so glad you shared this with us. Animals are so interesting to me and the way he captures these animals and their characteristics is so captivating! I love the one of the tiger you picked, its really amazing how he can get that moment in such a vivid way on camera.

I enjoyed looking at the photos you shared and I went to the website with it and I think the photos are great. Keen focuses on the natural beauty of his subject, they are very raw and beautiful and I love how bare they look. I also think its interesting how some photos are overexposed causing so outlines to just fade into the background.

I LOVE this! This is the type of Avante Garde makeup and lightening that I am drawn to. It ties high fashion with crazy makeup and style, and I think it’s fantastic! I also think the black and white/desaturated color choices are spot on. I agree with Leanna it really brings out the detail.

  8. Wow I thought these were Photoshopped before I realized they are double exposure shots. I had no idea this kind of thing was even possible without programs like Photoshopped. I think this type pf photography is really amazing.

Oh my gosh this is halarious! I love these candid shots they are priceless. This idea of capturing these people in their sheer moments of fear is such a great idea and they really got some nice photos because of it.

This is really awesome, I’m glad you shared this with us because it’s cool that you’ve actually been around and worked with this photographer! His camp photos are really great. I love how he captured some of those candid moments, like the water photos in the lake. I especially liked the one where that girl is getting squirted by the ketchup! Priceless!
