Free-Lensing

So a while ago I came across this super cool photography technique call free-lensing. It’s a method of shooting with your lens detached from the camera- but still held very closely. Holding your lens up to the camera (instead of attaching it) allows you to create a tilt-shift effect in your photos.

I follow this blog and she also has other fun photography things so if you want read more about it or any other tutorial go here:

I wanted to post this photographer because he is currently a student like us, and he still produces great work. It is cool to see how someone handles photography while still balancing school. He mainly does weddings and senior pictures and things like that, but he also has other types of experimental photography

These are so priceless! Being a camp counselor myself I am a sucker for camp photos! His ability to creatively capture little moments of life is so inspiring, especially since he is close to our age. I just love the composition of the girl flipping her hair back in the pool. SO GOOD!

These are so pretty! All his pictures makes me wish I was there. I also agree with Kelcie about the fantastic editing! His colors are so rich and full of life, which really enhance his already beautiful pictures. I especially love his pictures with mountains and reflections. I just think those are so well taken!

I really really love this! I love all their work. The shot with the sugar sifter thing above the tarts is so nice! They just bring a breath of fresh air to videos and I wish I could be like them. Their b-roll footage is amazing. Ah! Love them so much!

I love the repeating element of the cat! It is a really fun motif! It makes it feel like documentary style. I feel like I am just going through the life with the grandmother and the cat. I love how they feel candid and fun! I love seeing the little moments of life!

These are really fun! I agree they have a bohemian and eclectic style and I think that goes along with his work with Free People because they kinda have that feel too! I also like the feather elements in the middle picture. I think It just add a really cool graphic element!

I really admire Two Pair as well! I love their creativity and their willingness to create new shots and not just reproduce old ones. I love their editing style and their creative posing and fun moments they capture. You are going to do sooooo gooood! :)

  8. I always love double exposure shots! It is definitely something I would love to try sometime. I’m always looking for new fun things in photography to do and I think this is just awesome. I really like these shots and I love that there are historical pictures and contemporary pictures so we can see the growth. I love how these pictures combined humans and nature!
