Free-Lensing

So a while ago I came across this super cool photography technique call free-lensing. It’s a method of shooting with your lens detached from the camera- but still held very closely. Holding your lens up to the camera (instead of attaching it) allows you to create a tilt-shift effect in your photos.

I follow this blog and she also has other fun photography things so if you want read more about it or any other tutorial go here:

I got an internship yesterday with Two Pair Photography. I really like their wedding photography and think they are really creative. They aspire to be “new pinterest posts” and not duplicate the old ones, which I admire. I’m looking forward to working with them and hope yall enjoy!

I wanted to post this photographer because he is currently a student like us, and he still produces great work. It is cool to see how someone handles photography while still balancing school. He mainly does weddings and senior pictures and things like that, but he also has other types of experimental photography

Photographer Miyoko Ihara started this photo project 13 years ago, when her grandma Misao adopted an abandoned kitten, now named Fukumaru.

The Black and white photos are breathtaking.

This isn’t a post about a photographer, but this is really interesting. You can make light paintings like we did in digital photography, but with shapes. The link HERE is the website that has a GREAT tutorial on how to make your own. Maybe a good summer or christmas break project?

Shaun Menary is a photographer that does some high fashion type of engagement shots along with classic, natural lit shots. His work is stunning. I discovered him through my friend Jillian Edwards, an emerging vocal artist, who has used him to do her CD album covers. His portfolio is nice a diverse, with weddings, portraits, street photography, landscapes, etc. Check out his unique style at http://shaunmenary.com/

So Karsh is an excellent photographer.  Check out some of his portraits and early images when you get a chance (click here)!  He has photographs some awesome people (Hemmingway being one… woah). His black and white portraits are breathtaking.  I really like the way he uses a soft light in his images!
