Name: Zach Johnson

Occupation: Illustrator

Location: New York, New York

Interest: Art, creativity, working with others, being outdoors, and traveling

Zach is a pretty well known illustrator up in New York, I’m sure you’ve seen some of his stuff. He is a “go go go” type guy when it comes to his work. Also, being an extreme right brain, he doesn’t always have his ducks in a row when it comes to his process work. He recently got hired to do a new freelance job and they want all of his inspiration organized and ready to show. Also, they want to know where he got it from so they can document that for future reference. At a loss of how to do this, Zach came across the “designers inspiration organizer” app and found it to be exactly what he needed. He could even link up with his art friends.

Lindsey Adams

age: 20

occupation: Student

hobbies: Singing, leading worship songs for her sorority, acting, anything theatrical really, and hanging out with friends.

Lindsey is a college student at MACU. She is a music major and has a fun and caring personality. She loves hanging out with her friends, but when they go out to eat she begins to feel anxious. She is lactose intolerant (allergic to milk), so any product that has milk in it will give her an allergic reaction. Because of this she doesn’t always know where she can eat. Friend time turns into an inner struggle between going and not eating or hopefully finding a dish she can partake of. Her dietitian told her about a new app for smart phones that locates stores, locations, markets that are aware of the special needs of certain people–those with food allergies such as gluten and lactose intolerances as well as let’s you know what’s in certain foods like red dye #5. Lindsey finds some hope that she will be able to locate places that will cater to her needs. Now she doesn’t feel as so anxious when she goes out to eat or grocery shopping. She can look ahead and see which restaurants everyone likes but also caters to her dietary restrictions.

Daniel Best

age: 34

occupation: Radio host for MACU’s radio channel

hobbies: Traveling, birding, singing Opera, and watching American Idol.

Daniel is happily married with 3 children. Life would be wonderful, he thinks, if it weren’t for his struggle with his weight and diabetes. Every meal is a battle. He tries to eat better and desires that his kids eat healthy meals as well to prevent the onset of juvenile diabetes. His wife and he have done research on the matter and have learned a lot about what foods are right or now for them. They live a pretty fast paced lifestyle like most in the States, so sometimes meals don’t get packed or time doesn’t allow for cooking some evenings. His daughter Julia tells him she found an app he can download to his iPhone that may help them for these situations. He downloads the app and checks out the capabilities. It can tell him what healthy places are near him, such as farmers’ markets and organic health food stores. It also has a database of ingredients like maltodextrin, dextrose, sucrose, sorbitol and xylitol, which are all forms of sugars or sugar substitutes. He sees that a lot of the foods that say sugar free, have sugar additives like Splenda, which includes maltodextrin and dextrose as its first ingredients. An affect these can have is amplifying cravings for junk foods and creating a lazy digestive system. Not what he needs at all. He can also find out what produce is in season so when he buys new veggies and fruits for the kids, he can even get little Michael to eat these healthy foods.

Robert Huntsman
Age: 35
Occupation: Utility Sales and Repair
Hobbies: golfing, going to theme parks, home renovations, playing drumset

Scenario: Robert decided to meet up with a few friends from college that he hadn’t seen in several years. The four of them used to love going to theme parks together and riding the most intense roller coasters. They arrive at the roller coaster park to find that it is super crowded because most of the local schools are currently on spring break. Robert notices a sign in the park for an app that allows you to check line lengths and read information on rides – so he gets out his iPhone and downloads the app. He and his friends build a list of rides that they want to ride after looking at the descriptions and photos of all the rides (including stats such as top speed, number of loops, etc). They go to each ride based on which ride currently has the shortest wait time, which allows them to ride all of the rides that looked cool while even having time to ride a couple of the coasters twice. Robert and all of his friends agreed that their day at the park was awesome, especially thanks to the help they got from the theme park app in riding all of the coolest rides at the park.

Lynda Uvalde
Age: 41
Occupation: Head of City Council
Hobbies: spending time with her kids, reading, traveling

Scenario: Lynda decided to take her kids to a nearby theme park as a reward for finishing up the school year with good grades. When she gets to the park she decides to try their free app. She looks at all of the roller coaster descriptions and makes sure to avoid taking her kids to any rides that they do not meet the height requirements for. The kids also tend to get antsy in long lines, so she uses the app to make sure they don’t head towards any rides that currently have a wait time longer than 30 minutes. Her kids were also pretty picky in terms of what food they would eat, so she went to the food section of the app to find a good food place with a short line – which was extremely helpful in preventing any temper tantrums or meltdowns from her children. Overall, they had a great day at the park thanks to the information provided on the theme park info app.

Not really being familiar with street names and neighborhoods in the surrounding area, he tries to drive around the school and see if any houses or apartments are renting for next year. He runs into a few houses with signs but gets voicemails when he tries the number. He is unsure of how many bedrooms or the price at those listings anyways. Feeling stressed, he is about to just sign up for an on campus apartment when a friend tells him about (APP name). He quickly downloads the app and starts surfing. He is able to pull of a list of all surrounding availabilities within a 3 mile radius from campus. The price, number of rooms and baths, and information about bills are all visible too.         Name: Meredith
Occupation: Student/ Social Work
Interests: Music, Hanging out with friends, art

Meredith is a third year student at Belmont University in Nashville, TN. She has lived in the same apartment for a year and is ready for a change. She wants to live in a house, but hasn’t been able to find one close enough to campus to bike to and from, and one in her price range. She recently heard about (APP) and decides to check it out. She is able to search all available properties less than 1 mile from campus and within her price range. She has two girls that she wants to live with so finding a three bedroom is key. She is able to sift through and narrow it down to 3 major possibilities. She had rented a house at the university she was at before and had a lot of problems both with the property and the realtor. She wants to make sure she doesn’t run into the same problems again and is excited to see reviews from previous tenants of the properties. She is able to find out what problems the house has (pipes, neighbors, etc) and how the landlord/ tenant relationship has been in the past. This is key in her decision. She can discover all of the problems and benefits without even having to talk to the renter. She also sees the possibility of scheduling a viewing right there from her phone. She doesn’t have to deal with voicemails or secretaries but is able to set up an appointment from the calendar. She has great success and will definitely recommend this app to her friends also trying to find a place to live.
