OpenClass iPad App Updates

by Shaylee Southerland | Feb 14, 2013 | Instructional Design, Instructional Technologies

Here is a brief list of new features highlighted in the recent OpenClass for iPad app.  It is available for free download in the App Store.  This is a nice update, which brings the tablet version of OpenClass into better alignment with the computer-based social version we’re using on campus.

  • Doc Sharing Tool: users can view files and upload photos and audio to existing categories.

  • Audio Recording as a new attachment type: users can record audio with no time limit, play it back, erase/re-record, and attach their audio in Discussions, Submissions & Doc Sharing.

  • Ability to upload profile picture from camera or photo library. With the photo, you can zoom and crop the image before uploading.

  • Option to choose your file-size for photo attachments. You can choose small/medium/large and actual size.

  • Genie animation when opening/closing the Course Introduction.

  • Assorted alignment/UI/usability improvements.
