There are many ways you can adjust your course activities as timeframes shift. Here are a few tips:

  1. If you have multiple calendar items you will need to change due dates, go to the course calendar, and “drag and drop” the items to the next weeks, which would be much easier than going to each one of them to change due dates manually.
  2. If you decide not to use a certain assignment for grade calculation, you can choose to exempt it from final grade calculation. This works for assignments, not quizzes.
  3. You can still use an assignment, quiz, or other graded items, but you can choose to drop one of the lowest grades. To do this, you will need to go to course “assignment” on the course menu item, create assignment groups and edit it to drop one of the lowest grades. This works for both weighted and non-weighted grading methods. By dropping one of the lowest grades, students can still complete the assignments for the week for an additional attempt to improve their grades. Others can choose to bypass it and get 0, which would be dropped.
  4. You can use Studio to create a screencast or webcam video to make up for the lecture you might have missed. For more information, check this page.
